We’ve gathered some of the most encouraging and knowledgable speakers around to bring you loads of inspiration and encouragement for your homeschooling journey!
The Family Man
TODD WILSON, is a dad, grand dad, writer, conference speaker, and former pastor. Todd’s humor and down to earth realness have made him a favorite speaker at homeschool conventions, retreats, and churches across the country.
As founder of Familyman Ministries, his passion and mission are to remind dads and moms of what’s most important through a weekly e-mail for dads, seminars, and books and products that encourage parents.
Todd, and his wife Debbie, homeschool four of their eight children (four have graduated) in northern Indiana and travel America in the Familyman Mobile. You can read more at www.familymanweb.com
Parenting Matters NOW
Choosing to homeschool their four children from the very start, and continuing through high school, the Smiths feel that this made all the difference in their family, and that their adult children are their greatest accomplishment. The strong relationship they share with one another and their parents show the grace of God and that homeschooling is worth the investment of time and energy.
The Smiths hail from Louisiana where Roger is a medical doctor, and Jan manages their horse farm and businesses. Dr. Smith currently serves on the board of his state and national homeschool organizations. Over the last 25 years, the Smiths have served in leadership roles in numerous organizations, including 4-H, Boy Scouts, Homeschool Speech and Debate, and the Chamber of Commerce. Both Roger and Jan have been mentors at a local faith-based substance abuse program and at their church.
Though their home now is referred to as an “empty nest,” it is often filled with guests, because they see their home as the center of their service and ministry to others. It is there that they find great pleasure in serving others and inspiring them to a deeper walk with their Lord, and a richer relationship with others.
Parental Rights & HOW
Jan Loftus is lobbyist for Homeschoolers of Wyoming (HOW) and Wyoming’s coordinator for ParentalRights.org since 2011. She and her husband, Greg, have two adult children and while homeschooling them, served as secretary of HOW for six years. She functioned as campaign chairman for three successful runs for a current Wyoming State Rep.
Charlotte Mason Learning
Mariah Kochis will bring her experience with Charlotte Mason style learning to life in her presentation. Learn how you can apply these principles to your homeschool.
Hathaway Scholarship
Suzanne Wilkins has homeschooled and graduated all four of her children. When her oldest children were entering high school and preparing for college, Suzanne worked with the Wyoming Department of Education to help homeschoolers become more aware of the requirements for the Hathaway program. Suzanne has much practical insight to help parents prepare their high schoolers for college and specifically the Hathaway Scholarship. She paved the way for the homeschooling community to access this great opportunity and also authored the Hathaway Homeschool Tips on the Hathaway website (linked below).
AltaMeta Homeschool Aux
